Death

• Registration of Death is compulsory


• Death events to be registered at the place of occurrence


• Registration of Birth and Death that had occurred even prior to enactment of the Registration of Births and Deaths Act 1969.


• Reporting of Death within 21 days of occurrence of the events


• The true copy of the Death Certificates have been issued for the period till to 1880 within 15 days on receipt of the application (subject to condition of record)


• The Death Certificate will be issued in receipt of the application not only through computer center in Local Bodies and also at 120 Common Service Centre in Union Territory of Puducherry.
